Playhouse News

About Us

Playhouse on Park is managed under the direction of Playhouse Theatre Group, Inc. Playhouse on Park opened its doors in the fall of 2009 and with the hard work and generosity of countless volunteers, donors and our first audiences, presented a full season of plays, musicals, comedy nights, improv, children's shows and dance. We are proud to be entering our eleventh season of professional, affordable entertainment and educational programming in the greater Hartford area.

We also have a dance company in-residence: stop/time dance theater, that presents a full scale production as part of our Main Stage series. We're also proud to boast that Broadway.com named us Best Professional Theater in Connecticut in 2013. Meet the team

Diverse Programming

Plays: We continue our mission to ensure every performance in the Main Stage Season educates, entertains, and most importantly, challenges our audiences.

Musicals: We present two musicals in Season 9: Avenue Q and In The Heights.

But that's not all: we have comedy nights, improv cage matches, play readings, educational programs for all ages, and special events.

Experience The Playhouse

Hartford's most affordable and intimate professional theater, Playhouse on Park is nestled on Park Road in West Hartford, where the parking is free, the actors are right off Broadway, and the back row is just four seats from the stage.
