Advanced Improvisation - Fall 2018

This class will hone the skills of the more experienced improviser by exploring narrative, character relationships, and support work. The instructor will also address individual strengths as well as areas that need improvement through exercises and supportive feedback. Students will learn to sustain a more complex narrative using all of the skills learned in previous classes. Focus will be on long-form improv forms including Harold. Performance at end of class.

Prerequisite: Intermediate Improv or permission of instructor

Maximum 14 students, ages 18 and up 

Classes will be held at The 224 EcoCenter, 224 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT 06105
The class show will be held at Playhouse on Park, 244 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119


Mondays, 9/24 - 11/5, Class performance 11/6 at 8pm.
Time: 7:30-10:00pm

Claire ZickCLAIRE ZICK has been performing, teaching, directing and producing improv for over 15 years. She is originally from Seattle where she was an ensemble member at Unexpected Productions and performed weekly in Seattle Theatresports™ and long-form shows. Now based in Connecticut, Claire produces shows as Hot Cocco Productions including audience favorites CAMPFIRE and A(N) IMPROVISED CHRISTMAS CAROL. She is known for her mastery of long-form narrative and has a reputation as an expert teacher who helps groups and individuals breakthrough to their next level. She has studied and performed improv with Ryan Stiles, Armando Diaz, Randy Dixon, Ed Herbstman, Keith Johnstone and Mick Napier.
